The legendary Colombian interpreter Charlie Zaa continues to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the release of his debut album, "Sentiments." And now he has another reason to celebrate, as his latest album "Celebration" reaches # 1 this week on the Billboard "Tropical album sales" and # 2 in the U.S. "Latin album sales" list. In addition, it is the largest sales album in Puerto Rico. In Mexico, this album has remained in the top 10 sales since May. "Celebration" is Zaa's fifth album to reach # 1 on the tropical list since its debut with "Feelings" in 1977.
Produced by Mariano Pérez García, (Yuri, Ana Gabriel, Miguel Bose, Ricky Martin, la Sonora Santanera) "Celebration" includes new live versions of all the great hits of "feelings", including "one More album", "Rounding Your Corner" and "Our Oath". For the first time, Charlie performs two classic Julio Jaramillo songs, "Cigar Cigars" and "I hate You and love you." Charlie is accompanied by special guests of the stature of the Sonora Santanera, Leslie Grace, Yuri, Cristian Castro, Carlos Rivera, Río Roma, Margarita the goddess of the Cumbia and Catalina García (Monsieur Perineum). This album of 12 tracks that was recorded live in the studios of Sony Music in Mexico City, also comes accompanied by a visual production.
Charlie has embarked on an extensive promotional tour in the United States, visiting cities like Los Angeles, Miami and Washington D.C. Last week, Charlie visited Puerto Rico, causing a stir with his return to the island of Enchantment. Nearly a thousand followers attended his signing of autographs in the Mall of San Juan, achieving a record of attendance. Charlie interpreted "celebration" issues, thus sharing nostalgia with his audience. Last weekend, Charlie showed up in Houston. His tour will continue with presentations in Canada, New Jersey, Orlando, Honduras and Chile.
Charlie Zaa's latest single is "Jet" feat. Catalina García of the Colombian group Monsieur Perineum and his music video is now available by Vevo.
